True Self: Unique in Unity

I have been somewhat absent from this site for a while and wondering whether or not to keep it going.

I wrote some of this as perhaps helpful for a friend and have decided to take up some space here with it anyway. Just more musings in the end.

In order to live harmoniously with others we must learn to be united in our seperateness; Unique in Unity. So much so, that we must be our own leader, guide and teacher. This is true self. Self-love and self-pity are not true self. You only need to love yourself because you feel you are pitiful as you are. Being you has no such requirement. This is an unhealthy form of self and leaves the door open to influences (and influencers) to fashion a new self for you.
This body is already a body of love and contains the seed of health and vitality. The seed of illness also lies within the body. It is up to us which of these seeds we choose to cultivate.
When we fall ill we can come to realise how we ought to have lived. We have the opportunity to learn the value and preciousness of life. How to live and how to die are questions that bring vitality to life, and can pour great energy into living this moment. It is then that we can join in this one abundant life that is living all of us.

This great life flows as love. It is found in the stillness at the interface of fighting and giving up. Both striving and making no effort are not evolutionary. Improvisational creativity suggests the way forward without the usual expedient calculations of the acquiring mind. This allows us freedom from the inculcated patterns of emotions and thoughts that repeat and reinforce our movement away from life into a default of postures and beliefs. In the end, this is how life may seem to us and we are left to make do in our own self-created parody of it.

Instead of aligning with the vast freedom of our true self we live small lives seeking alternative means of momentary satisfaction. Where we focus our attention is the foundation of our state of presence. We need to stop looking through small windows at the vastness of the sky.

Respect means to look again. In respect, if we look again at ourselves, perhaps we will find so much more than we expect. Perhaps we can be the change we want to see. A return to the centre of being where we all meet as One.
Simple experiences are generated from rather complex material. Blessed are those who have not travelled the mind road from the complex to the simple, and have seen the light of truth directly, but equally are blessed, are those (me?) who have taken a wider ranging way. We all arrive at where we started. Where that is, only you can know. And remember only one thing; only a fool speaks the Truth.
Finally, no one can do it for you, only you can…

No more exchanging someone else’s beliefs for another of your own. Your beliefs also cloud the vibrant sky.
If you want to know what I mean:
simply watch, truly, deeply as the morning sun burns the mountain mist away, and you will know who you are.

Perhaps we can take a cue from William Shakespeare :

“Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie,

Which we ascribe to heaven”.
